Our Story

“I care deeply about simplicity and craftsmanship: buying less, choosing better and caring for what we keep. Wateke reflects this philosophy through purposeful jewellery, designed to last and to be worn with meaning.”
Ivy Cruz – Founder

Why Wateke
The name Wateke comes from the Taíno word “guateque”, evoking a joyful and welcoming gathering — a shared moment where everyone belongs. This spirit inspires everything we do.
Wateke is an invitation to slow down, appreciate beauty without rushing and feel completely yourself in what you wear.
Choosing Wateke is more than choosing a piece of jewellery. It means entering a world where creativity, craftsmanship, movement and intention meet.
Our jewellery draws inspiration from music, dance and the rhythm of everyday life. Shapes follow the body, catch the light and accompany every movement.
We particularly favour recycled silver, together with responsible production methods, to create pieces designed to be loved and worn for years.
Less, but better. Pieces chosen with intention, made to move with you and stay with you.
Ethical and Sustainable Jewellery
Our Commitment to Recycled Silver
At Wateke, we favour recycled silver sourced from materials including old X-ray films, coins and recycled jewellery. This precious material is recovered, transformed and carefully worked into new, lasting creations.
